Total Eclipse

Another beautiful day and some wonderful sport to be enjoyed, great racing, cricket at Lords, Wimbledon, Tour de France and of course the World Cup going along nicely unfortunately none the worse for Englands early exit. I am told the Stevie G rumour that everybody knows turns out to be untrue - Stevie G fails to score again!
The Eclipse gets underway at 3.10. I wrote earlier this week about Dar Re Mi and I shall be having a few quid on the Gosden mare.
Decorative has a great chance to continue her wining form in the Distaff taking the step up to Listed class in her stride.
Manighar will be plenty short enough in the betting for the Marathon but is the clear choice on form, although the good to firm going is a slight worry. He had the beating of Opinion Poll and King of Wands at Goodwood last time out and the grey is better at the weights today.
In the lucky last Lovers Causeway has an each way chance. The Mark Johnston colt has won on his last two starts and though this is a step up in class he may well get his own way out in front today which makes him a big player.
On occasions there is the opportunity to nick a couple of quid away from the big meetings and up at Beverley today we have two such opportunities. I won't be making the trek up north  but an old mate of mine Tiff will be there for the day and he could do worse than back Dabbers Ridge in the 3.15. Twice a winner at the track already this year the race should be run to suit.
Sharp Eclipse lines up in the 5.35 and has a great chance of finally picking up a well deserved victory from the ideal high draw - they should pay for a pint of Theakstons Old Peculier and a pickled egg on the way home.
Be lucky
