Yet again a beautiful day and some great racing on show; it really has been a lovely week.
Up at York we have the John Smiths Cup and I like the look of Imposing. The Stoute colt won nicely here in May before running second at the Royal meeting, he looks to have a little bit of class and is fancied to take this. Later on the card jockey of the moment Paul Hanagan has a couple of short ones and every chance of adding to his 91 winners so far this season. Dubai Media making her debut for the Ed Dunlop yard is fancied in the 4.50 and Bachelor Knight who has been progressing nicely and won his last two starts can swoop late and take the sprint at 5.25
Earlier at Ascot Haatheq lines up in the 1.45. Following a couple of wins over seven earlier in the season he was tried over a mile at Doncaster last time out, finishing second to Sea Lord. Having reviewed the races again it looks to me like seven suits the John Dunlop colt better and he is of interest dropping back in distance today. The Summer Mile Stakes at 2.50 is a competitive Group Two with some nice horses lining up. Dream Eater followed Goldikova and Paco Boy home at the Royal meeting in the Queen Anne Stakes and could be up to taking this and finally getting a well deserved Group win.
Be lucky
