Yet again a beautiful day for it, I am unfortunately stuck at the desk for a while but rest assured I shall be out in the lovely July sunshine as soon as possible if not before. Don't you just love it when the temperature and hemlines rise.
Anybody who knows me or has ever visited this site will know the horse I shall be backing in the July Cup, Starspangledbanner will be short and will win. In the Superlative Stakes I like the look of another likely short priced one in the shape of Jeremy Noseda inmate Formosina. Third to subsequent Coventry Stakes winner Strong Suit on his debut he won his maiden at Doncaster on his second outing and took the Group 2 Railway Stakes at the Curragh last time out in June. The stable is in good form with four winners from eight runners this month already. Two singles and a double should pay for a shandy or two.
I mentioned My Lord yesterday and though he does have it to do off top weight, with young J Dean taking a handy 3lb off with the claim and the to be expected improvement following his debut win the gelding has a chance at a fair price up at Newbury tonight.
