I have been known to swing a club and fly up a divot or two in my time, no truth in the stories that I spent so much time in the sand that I was in danger of being renamed Rommel, so I have been running an eye over the Open Championship betting to see if there is any value to be had.
It is twelve years since Justin Rose first came to prominence as a 17-year-old at Royal Birkdale and he has had his ups and downs since in his professional career. Having hauled himself back up to 16th in the current world rankings he has won the Memorial and AT&T over in the US in the last few weeks and is playing some very good golf this season leading to a nice little earner of just over $3m dollars on the US tour.
Having finished in the top ten on five occasions in Majors I believe this year he can step up and has a great chance of getting his hands on the Claret Jug come Sunday afternoon. At 22-1 with Paddy Power, 1/4 the odds the first seven, a few quid each way will be invested.
Be lucky
